Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours. Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine. Talk to a doctor immediately if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well.

Will paracetamol help with symptoms of Covid-19?

One of the main symptoms of COVID-19 is a high temperature. The NHS has advised that paracetamol can be used to lower a high temperature caused by COVID-19. Remember, for the most up to date information, check the NHS website and gov.uk. If you cannot manage your symptoms at home use the 111 coronavirus service, or call 111 if you cannot get help online. For life-threatening emergencies, call 999 for an ambulance.

For Adults usual dose: 500 mg to 1000 mg (1–2 tablets of 500 mg) every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum of 8 tablets are allowed to be taken in a 24 hour period.

Avoid exceeding the maximum daily limit: Taking more than the recommended dose can lead to serious liver damage. Be cautious with combination medications: Paracetamol is often found in combination with other medications (like cold and flu remedies), so it’s crucial to keep track of the total daily dose from all sources.

Paracetamol is generally considered safe when taken as directed, but like any medication, it can have potential side effects, especially if used incorrectly or in excess. Here are some possible side effects: Common side effects (rare): Allergic reactions: Rash, itching, or swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat) may occur, though this is uncommon. Nausea or upset stomach: Some people may feel a bit nauseous, especially if they take paracetamol on an empty stomach. Headache: Paracetamol can sometimes cause headaches, though it is generally used to treat them.
