Flu Treatment

The flu (influenza) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It affects the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs, leading to symptoms that can range from mild to severe. The flu is different from the common cold and can lead to serious complications, especially for young children, elderly adults, and people with weakened immune systems.

Tamiflu is an antiviral medication used to treat or prevent the flu (influenza virus). Tamiflu is currently the only licensed medication that has been clinically proven to reduce the duration of a flu outbreak. Please note, Tamiflu is not effective at treating or preventing Covid-19.
