Overview
Gaviscon Chewable Tablets Peppermint are formulated to quickly address symptoms of acid-related discomfort such as heartburn, bloating, and acid reflux. The unique combination of sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate works in two ways: neutralising excess stomach acid and creating a foaming “raft” barrier that floats on stomach contents, helping to prevent reflux of acid into the oesophagus.
These tablets are designed to be chewed thoroughly before swallowing, making them easy to take without water and suitable for use after meals or whenever symptoms arise. This formulation is generally gluten-free and free from sugar, and has a refreshing peppermint taste to make relief more pleasant.

Many people can use Gaviscon during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but you should consult a healthcare professional before use.
How quickly does it work?
Relief often begins within minutes after taking the tablets, especially when taken after meals or at bedtime.
Can children take this product?
Only children aged 12 and over may use it, and children under 12 should only take it on medical advice.
What if I’m on other medication?
Take Gaviscon at least 2 hours apart from other oral medications, as antacids can affect absorption.
